COLUMBIA — After a close-fought loss to then-No. 2 Freed-Hardeman, the Columbia College women's basketball team let out its frustration in a 96-57 win over Benedictine University-Springfield on Thursday in Illinois.

The No. 12 Cougars (23-6, 19-2 American Midwest Conference) had a 36-5 lead midway through the first half and have won 11 of their last 12 games. Both of Columbia College's losses have come at the hands of Freed-Hardeman.

Ashley Fisher led the Cougars with 17 points, and Janairrika Bland had her fifth double-double of the season with 12 points and 12 rebounds. Two other Columbia College players, Danielle Duncan (12) and Aqua Corpening (10), also hit double figures in the rout.

The Cougars finish their regular season with a 2 p.m. matchup against Missouri Baptist on Saturday at home.
