Missouri baseball's Graves wins weekly award

Monday, March 3, 2014 | 5:53 p.m. CST

Missouri junior Brett Graves was named Co-Southeastern Conference Pitcher of the Week on Monday. Graves is the first Tigers player to earn a weekly conference honor this season.

The righthander from St. Charles threw eight scoreless innings and allowed just two hits to get the win against Illinois-Chicago on Saturday. Graves has thrown 15 straight scoreless innings, a streak stretching back to his seven-inning performance against Wake Forest on Feb. 22.

Graves' next outing is scheduled for Friday night when Missouri faces Southern Mississippi in its home opener.
