COLUMBIA — Lillian Ricketts of Hallsville died Monday, March 10, 2014, at home. She was 95.
Mrs. Ricketts was born on June 30, 1918, and lived in Columbia all of her adult life. She was active in her children's schools and was a Girl Scout and Boy Scout leader. She helped organize the first all-night party for seniors at Hickman High School, and she was Parent-Teacher Association president in 1956. She was also a member of the University Extension Wives.
After her husband, Ralph, retired from MU, they moved to Hallsville. Mrs. Ricketts was the organist at Red Top Christian Church until her death.
Mrs. Ricketts is survived by a daughter, Sharon Ricketts Goff, and her husband, Don, of Kansas City; a grandson, Brad Ricketts, and his wife, Shawn, of Hallsville; a granddaughter, Sheri Ricketts Gill, and her husband, Jesse, of Rupert, W. Va.; and four great-grandchildren; a sister, Thelma Lane of Springfield; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Ricketts' husband, Ralph; a son, David; and a sister, Dorothy Cowan, died earlier.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday* at Red Top Christian Church in Hallsville.
