The Stephens College softball team won its first road game Monday, beating MacMurray College 5-3.

Stephens (2-5) fell behind early but came back to tie the game 1-1 with a home run from sophomore catcher Cheyenne Jones in the second inning. The Stars built a 5-1 lead over the next four innings, taking that advantage into the seventh.

Stephens held off a comeback from MacMurray in the final inning.

Stephens' pitcher Katelyn Rush earned her second victory of the season in a complete game.

Stephens' next contest is a home game against Culver-Stockton College on Wednesday.
