One man injured in convenience store shooting

COLUMBIA — A shooting Monday night at Ultra Mart sent a 20-year-old man to the hospital.

Police were dispatched to a reported shooting at the convenience store at 2102 Paris Road at 11:42 p.m., according to a Columbia Police Department news release. 

Once they arrived, officers found a 20-year-old man who had been shot and saw that nearby vehicles had been damaged by gunfire.

Paramedics transported the victim to a local hospital for treatment. His injuries were not life threatening.

Police did not have a suspect description as of Tuesday morning. Anyone with information can contact the Columbia Police Department at 442-6131 or Crime Stoppers at 875-8477.
