Jordan Elam, 23, survived by son

COLUMBIA — Jordan Elam of Columbia died Saturday, March 8, 2014, in an automobile accident. He was 23.

He was born July 31, 1990, to Shirley Patrick and Jeffrey Hayes.

Mr. Elam is survived by a son, Kendred Malik Elam-Buchanan, of Columbia; his parents, Shirley and Dean Patrick, of St. Louis; two brothers, Joshua Elam and Ramelus Bradley, both of Columbia; four sisters, Destini Patrick and Whitney Patrick, both of St. Louis, Demetria Waller, of Decatur, Ga., and Dalisha Waller of Columbia; a grandmother, Patricia Tyler, of Columbia; a grandfather, Jimmy Turner, of Columbia; and numerous uncles, aunts and cousins.

His sister Shakara Hayes; three grandparents, Janice Hayes, and Louis and Anna Elam; an uncle, Albert Elam; and an aunt, Janet Elam, died earlier.

Visitation will be on from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Bach-Yager Funeral Chapel, 1610 N. Garth Ave. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Friendship Baptist Church, 1707 Smiley Lane.
