Police respond to shots fired in north Columbia

COLUMBIA — Police recovered shell casings after responding to reports of gunfire in north Columbia. No one was injured, but a nearby car and home sustained damage, according to a news release issued by the Columbia Police Department.

The Columbia Police Department received several calls Thursday night reporting shots fired near the intersection of Derby Ridge Drive and Bold Ruler Court, according to the release.

Officers were dispatched to the area at 9 p.m., where they recovered several shell casings. Police reported no injuries, though a vehicle and house on the 1700 block of Bold Ruler Court sustained damage.

Several suspects were described as leaving the scene in a large dark SUV.

Police requested that anyone with information about the incident call the Columbia Police Department at 442-6131, or to remain anonymous call Crime Stoppers at 875-8477.
