Juliet Harris loved traveling, bridge

COLUMBIA — Juliet Harris enjoyed playing bridge, knitting and traveling with her husband.

Mrs. Harris, of Columbia, died Friday, March 14, 2014. She was 86.

She was born Feb. 19, 1928, in Murfreesboro, Tenn., to George and Frances (Beaden) Scott. She married William D. Harris Sr. on June 9, 1951.

Mrs. Harris was a graduate of Stephens College. In addition to traveling, she was an avid volunteer at University Hospital for several years.

She is remembered as a great wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.

Mrs. Harris is survived by two children, Frances Harris of Columbia and William David Harris Jr. and his wife, Denise, of Columbia; a brother, Harry "Brother" Scott, of Memphis; two sisters, Sally Ledbetter and her husband, Billy, of Murfreesboro, Tenn., and Sue Hukari of Atlanta; three grandchildren, Kara Harris of Columbia, William "Trey" Harris III of Fulton and Lindsey Harris of Columbia; and a great-grandchild, Kylin Byndom of Columbia.

Her husband; a daughter-in-law, Kyle Harris; a sister-in-law, Mary Kay Scott; and a brother-in-law, Dick Hukari, died earlier.

Services will be at 11 a.m. March 27 at Evergreen Cemetery in Murfreesboro, Tenn.
