Cody Hendren loved learning and music

COLUMBIA — Cody Wayne Hendren was always seen with at least one ear bud in. He loved music, no matter whether he was just listening to it or playing it on his viola in Muriel Williams Battle High School's orchestra. 

Cody Wayne Hendren of Columbia died Saturday, March 15, 2014, at his home. He was 14.

He was born July 20, 1999, in Columbia to Jeremy and Beth Hendren.

Cody was a freshman in the EEE gifted education program at Battle High. He had a passion for learning new things such as random trivia facts, and sharing his knowledge with his friends and siblings. He loved reading and playing "Minecraft" with his brothers.

Cody is survived by his father, Jeremy Hendren; his stepmother, Tiffany McMichael; his mother, Beth Hendren; his stepfather, Adam Froeschner; three brothers, Dalton, Jaydin, and Tyler; a sister, Caitlin; grandparents, Gary Hendren and his wife, Teresa, and Dennis Froeschner and his wife, Sue; and aunts, uncles, and cousins, TJ, Chrissie, Cameron and Chris Hendren, Bret Froeschner, Billy Froeschner and his wife, Jamie, Davie Froeschner, Sandy Roach, Tammy Froeschner, and Jeremy and Richelle Lewis.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Memorial Funeral Home, 1217 Business Loop 70 W. Services will be at 7 p.m. Monday at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, U.S. 24 East and Jones Lane, Moberly.
