East Walnut to close for road repairs next week

Friday, March 21, 2014 | 4:42 p.m. CDT

COLUMBIA — East Walnut Street between Melbourne Street and William Street will close next week for scheduled road repairs.

Crews are scheduled to begin work on the section of East Walnut Street on Monday and continue through Friday. During that time, several of Columbia Transit's bus routes will be detoured to avoid the area.

Routes 102, 103 and 104 will be detoured one block south of the area, using Tenth Street and East Broadway when leaving or returning to Wabash Station.

The 107 FastCAT will use Hinkson Avenue and Rogers Street to avoid the area. The route will then travel south down Tenth Street and then back to Walnut Street after its stop at Wabash Station.

Columbia Public Works has released a map detailing the detours on its website.

Supervising editor is Allie Hinga.
