Hickman baseball trounces Southern Boone in shutout

COLUMBIA — The Hickman baseball team shut out Southern Boone High School on Friday at Hickman High school, winning by a score of 10-0.

Hickman scored four runs in the third inning, two in the fourth inning and another four in the fifth inning. The game was then called in accordance with the run rule.

The Kewpies were led on offense by junior infielder Jacob Litteken, who went 3-4 and drove in four runs. Senior catcher Colby Fitch went 2-2, driving in a run while scoring two. Senior center fielder Carter Buresh also had two hits and scored two runs.

Hickman pitcher Daniel Foley threw all five innings for the Kewpies, giving up just one hit while striking out four.

Hickman is scheduled to play a doubleheader on Saturday. The Kewpies first take on Willard High School at noon and then face off against Kirksville High School at 5 p.m.
