Karen Sue Long worked at Marshall Habilitation Center for 30 years

COLUMBIA — Karen Sue Long, died Saturday, March 22, 2014. She was 62.

Mrs. Long was born Nov. 19, 1951, in Monroe County to Russell Dean Greenup and Beulah Faye Schofield Greenup.

On June 8, 1974, she married Larry D. Long.

Mrs. Long lived in Marshall most of her life and worked for 30 years as part of the direct care staff of Marshall Habilitation Center. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Marshall.

She is survived by her husband, Larry D. Long; three children; Tammy Squires and her husband, Tim, of Gilliam, Tim Long and his wife, Michelle, of Lucas, Texas, Rebecca Hadley and her husband, Tim, of Phoenix.; five grandchildren, Mason Taylor Elizabeth Long, Amanda Jo Squires, Emily Suzanne Squires, Treagan Graham Hadley, and Pierce Hudson Hadley; six siblings; Ron Greenup of Stoutsville, E.W. Greenup, Richard Greenup and his wife, Tammy, Cindy Alverson Freese and her husband, Tim, all of Columbia, Donna Starrett and her husband, Mike, of Paris, Mo., and Jim Alverson of Clapper; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, at First Baptist Church, 8 N. Odell Ave., Marshall. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church, with Dr. Mike Parris officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Garden Cemetery, 1801 S. Odell Ave., Marshall.
