Columbia College splits softball doubleheader

The Columbia College softball team split a doubleheader against Embry-Riddle (Fla.) University on Monday in Daytona Beach, Fla.

The Cougars (11-8) won the opening game 8-0 and then lost 4-3 in game two.

Lauren McCroskie pitched a five-inning shutout for the Cougars in the first game. Columbia also led 3-0 in the second inning of the next game, but ERU plated two runs apiece in the third and fourth innings.

The Cougars are scheduled to play Southeastern (Fla.) University on Wednesday at 1 p.m. in Lakeland, Fla.
