Cougars softball swept

The Columbia Softball team lost 12-3 and then 3-0 in a doubleheader against Southeastern (Fla.) University on Wednesday in Lakeland, Fla.

The Cougars dropped to 11-10.

Southeastern scored six runs in the first inning of game one. In game two, Fire pitcher Lauren West shut out the Cougars over seven innings, giving up just two hits.

Columbia return to action Friday against Warner (Fla.) University. First pitch for the doubleheader is scheduled for 1 p.m. in Lake Wales, Fla.
