Stephens loses doubleheader

Wednesday, March 26, 2014 | 10:16 p.m. CDT

The Stephens College softball team lost both ends of a doubleheader Wednesday at Bethel University in McKenzie, Tenn. The Stars (2-18) lost 10-4 in the first game and 10-1 in the second game.

The 10-4 loss was the first time in 11 games that Stephens played the full seven innings without the slaughter rule coming into effect. The Stars weren't so competitive in the second game, falling behind 6-0 in the first inning and losing the game after five frames.

The Stars are scheduled to resume their road trip Thursday with an American Midwest Conference doubleheader at Mid-Continent. The times for the games are 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
