Stephens softball team snaps 13-game losing streak

Second baseman Monica Nakamatsu went 4-for-4 with five runs scored to lead Stephens College softball to its first conference win of the season Thursday in Mayfield, Ky.

The Stars snapped a 13-game losing streak and split a doubleheader at Mid-Continent, winning the first game 10-6 and losing the second one 11-1.

Stephens is now 3-19 overall and 1-7 in the American Midwest Conference. Mid-Continent is 5-15, 4-8.

Senior pitcher Emily Park earned her first win of the season for Stephens, tossing a complete game.
