Betty Faye Reed VanHorn was a homemaker, member of Ashland Baptist Church

COLUMBIA — Betty Faye Reed VanHorn of Ashland died Thursday, March 27, 2014. She was 89.

She was born May 18, 1924, in Plattsmouth, Neb., to Dewy Clarence and Estelle M. Ruby Reed. She married Loyle VanHorn on June 16, 1946.

Mrs. VanHorn served in the U.S. Navy and was a homemaker. She was also a member of Ashland Baptist Church.

Mrs. VanHorn is survived by her husband, Loyle VanHorn; a son, David VanHorn, and his wife, Mary, of Des Moines, Iowa; a daughter, Anna Coleman, of Ashland; a sister, Florence Bashus, of Plattsmouth, Neb.; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Two sisters died earlier.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Ashland Baptist Church, 203 E. Broadway in Ashland. Services will follow at the church. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Lowell Cemetery in Lowell, Kan.

Memorial contributions can be made to Ashland Baptist Church in care of the VanHorn family.
