Columbia softball takes two from Warner University

COLUMBIA — The Columbia softball team took both games of a doubleheader Friday against Warner University in Lake Wales, Fla. The Cougars won the opening game 8-2 and captured the sweep with a 5-1 win in Game 2.

Lauren McCroskie was the winning pitcher in Game 1. She went five innings and allowed two runs and six hits.

The winning pitcher in Game 2 was Tiffany Urwiler. She threw seven innings and only allowed an unearned run.

Carly Spalding and Taylor Atwood each had three hits in Game 1. Kristin Eiken led the Cougars offensively in the second game with two hits.

Columbia is now 13-10 this season. The team's next game is Tuesday at home against No. 15-ranked Park University. Tuesday's doubleheader is scheduled to start at 2 p.m.
