Hickman baseball splits pair of games Saturday

COLUMBIA — The Hickman High School baseball team suffered its first loss of the season Saturday but blew out its opponent in the final game of the weekend.

The Kewpies (3-1) lost to Vianney 5-3. Daniel Foley went 5 1/3 innings and gave up one run for Hickman, which was held to fewer than 10 runs for the first time this year in the loss.

The Kewpies got back to their high-scoring ways against Waynesville in a 12-2 win that went six innings. Augie Loehr threw five innings with two earned runs and one strikeout in the win. Carter Nicoli, Colby Fitch and Anthony Hansen combined to lead Hickman with 5 RBIs and went 7 for 9 at the plate in the blowout.

Hickman's next game is Tuesday against Howell North.
