Stephens College golf opens season

COLUMBIA — The Stephens College golf team opened the season at the Owls Spring Invitational on Monday and Tuesday in Fulton. The invitational was held at the Tanglewood Golf Course.

Stephens senior Kelsea Whitten shot the low score for the Stars. She went 92 then 95 for 187 strokes. Alexi Scharbach shot 123 then 114 for 237, which put her in 44th place. In 45th place was senior Davielle McCoy with rounds of 166 and 139 for 305.

Medalist honors went to Columbia College's Avery Rochester, who shot 77 and 74 for 151.

The next action for Stephens is April 14 and 15 at the Central Methodist University Eagle Open in Boonville.
