Hickman baseball splits games at St. Charles tournament

COLUMBIA — The Hickman baseball team split its games Tuesday at the St. Charles Midwest Classic. Hickman beat Francis Howell North 11-0 in six innings. In the second game, Fort Zumwalt South won 21-6.

Carter Nicoli had a strong day at the plate. He hit 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs in the first game, and he went 2-for-3 in Game 2.

Colby Fitch also hit well for Hickman. He was 1-for-2 with a triple and two walks in the opening game, and he was 2-for-3 with a home run and four RBIs in the second game.

Daniel Foley earned the win for Hickman over Francis Howell North. Foley threw six innings and allowed no runs and two hits with five strikeouts. Anthony Hansen was the losing pitcher in the second game.

Hickman is now 4-3 this season. The team returns to action Friday back at St. Charles with the opponent and time to be announced.
