Police investigate Saturday night Midwest Petroleum Convenience Store shooting

COLUMBIA — Police are investigating a shooting at a Midwest Petroleum Convenience Store on Providence Road.

According to a Columbia Police Department news release, officers were dispatched to University Hospital around 11:5o p.m. Saturday after a man came to the emergency room with a gunshot wound. The 33-year-old man's injuries were not life-threatening.

The shooting took place at the convenience store, 126 South Providence Road, around 11 p.m., Sgt. Joe Bernhard said in the news release.

The victim told police he knows the suspected shooter, but police are not releasing suspect information at this time.
