Missouri softball's Tori Finucane named SEC Pitcher of the Week

Freshman Missouri pitcher Tori Finucane earned her first Southeastern Conference Pitcher of the Week honor Monday after her performance against Mississippi State last weekend.

Finucane pitched 14 innings over two games against the Bulldogs. She recorded a career-high 12 strikeouts in a 6-0 shutout Friday, issuing no walks and allowing only two hits in the game.

She added four more strikeouts in the Tigers' 8-1 win on Saturday, issuing two walks and allowing only one run.

Finucane and the Tigers face Western Illinois next in a doubleheader beginning at 3 p.m. Wednesday at University Field.
