COLUMBIA — Missouri volleyball players Sarah Meister and Emily Wilson were selected to join the USA Volleyball Collegiate National Team, USA Volleyball announced Tuesday.
Meister and Wilson will compete at the USA Volleyball Girls' Junior National Championships from June 22 to July 1 in Minneapolis.
The pair will join Missouri teammates Carly Kan and Whitney Little as members of the Collegiate National Team. Kan and Little were selected in March — Kan will compete with the national team in China, while Little will compete with the team in Europe.
"I am honestly very honored and so excited to be a part of the USA program," Meister said. "I'm so grateful and beyond blessed to compete and train with some of the best volleyball players in the country."
The four Tigers selected were part of a record-setting Missouri team last year that became the first SEC team to ever complete a regular season undefeated. The Tigers finished the season 35-1 after a loss to Purdue in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
Meister and Wilson will join 34 other players across the country in Minneapolis, where the pool of players will be divided into three teams that will play each other in a round-robin competition. According to a release from USA Volleyball, the event is considered a second tryout for the U.S. Women's National Team.
