COLUMBIA — Two men arrested around 1 a.m. Thursday had concealed handguns, and one also had pills not prescribed to him, police said.
Chad Lee Thomas, 24, and Dushane Kumaine Griffith, 23, of Columbia, were walking down the middle of McKee Street, near Orchard Lane, and obstructing traffic when they were stopped by police, according to a news release from the Columbia Police Department.
After further investigation, police found the loaded guns and the controlled substance.
Both men were arrested on suspicion of walking in the roadway and unlawful use of a weapon.
Thomas was also arrested on suspicion of possession of a weapon by a felon, and Griffith on suspicion of felony resisting arrest and possession of a controlled substance, according to the release.
Thomas' bond was set at $9,000, and Griffith's was set at $13,500.
