Hurdles a strength for Hickman boys' track

COLUMBIA — The Hickman boys' track and field placed in both hurdle races at the 35-team Hillcrest Invitational in Springfield on Friday.

Kyle Leftwich took fifth in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 15.61 seconds. Andrew Pieper finished seventh in the 300 hurdles in 42.46 seconds.

Leftwich also helped the 4x200-meter relay finish second. Running with Leftwich were Sam Smith, Eddie Barrett and Anthony O'Dell. Their time was 43.74 seconds.

"It was a good meet for the kids," Hickman coach Stewart Johnson said.

The next meet for the Hickman boys is Friday at the Capital City Relay.
