18-year-old man injured in Columbia shooting

COLUMBIA — An 18-year-old man was shot Saturday night in the 300 block of West Worley Street.

Police were dispatched to the area after shots were fired around 9:05 p.m., according to a Columbia Police Department news release. Police could not find a victim at the scene, so they contacted local hospitals to locate the victim.

Police were notified around 9:25 p.m. that the victim had arrived at a local emergency room in a personal vehicle. He sustained a non-life-threatening injury.

The victim was shot while sitting in his vehicle, according to the release.

The perpetrators included four men with dreadlocks in a grey Chevrolet Impala. Police found the Chevrolet Impala unoccupied with multiple bullet holes in it.

Columbia Police Department spokeswoman Latisha Stroer said there was no new information as of Sunday morning.
