Models rehearsed Friday for The Collections, Stephens College's 70th annual student fashion show, that will occur on Saturday. All outfits showcased were designed by student designers.

COLUMBIA — As the lights dimmed and the bass began to swell, Courtney Elliott took to the stage and walked down the runway.

Models and designers gathered in Windsor Auditorium on Friday to rehearse for The Collections, Stephens College's 70th annual student fashion show.

The Collections features outfits designed by students, who have been working on their collections since January.

"I got blisters from sewing because I didn't wear a thimble," sophomore designer Britta Belle said. The Collections is the first time Belle has seen her own work on the runway.

"To be able to see it on someone reminds me why I do it," Belle said.

The Collections show will be held at 2 p.m., 4:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday at Windsor Auditorium.
