Columbia College women's golf takes 2nd in conference

COLUMBIA — The Columbia College women's golf team took second place at the American Midwest Conference Championship on Tuesday. The Cougars shot 100-over-par 676 to finish behind William Woods University, which shot a 34-over 610.

Avery Rochester led Columbia with a 19-over-par 163, and she finished seventh. Her teammate Hannah Gill took eighth with a 21-over 165. Rochester was named AMC Freshman of the Year.

Other Columbia scores came from Laken Frese (15th place, 172 strokes), Makayla Baker (23rd, 183) and Kasey Nichols (25th, 184).
