Former Missouri cornerback E.J. Gaines selected in sixth round by St. Louis

COLUMBIA — Former Missouri cornerback E.J. Gaines on Saturday became the first Missouri cornerback selected in the NFL Draft since 1984.

The St. Louis Rams picked Gaines in the sixth round with the 188th overall pick.

In four seasons with Missouri, Gaines played in 50 games with 244 total tackles, 31 passes defended and eight interceptions. He was named 2012 Team Cornerback of the Year and 2011 All-Big 12 First Team. 

Gaines will join former Missouri teammate T.J. Moe, who signed a one-year deal with the Rams on May 5.
