COLUMBIA — The Rock Bridge boys golf team qualified for the state tournament for the fifth consecutive year Monday, finishing second at the Class 4 Section 3 tournament in Carthage.

The Bruins finished 25-over par (309) as a team, one stroke behind Glendale (Springfield). The top-2 finish at sectionals qualifies Rock Bridge for the state tournament at the Dalhousie Golf Club in Cape Girardeau on May 19-20.

Junior Jack Knoesel led the Bruins with a 2-over-par 72, which earned him a fourth-place finish. Senior Jackson Dubinski was the only other Rock Bridge golfer in the top 10. He finished 10th with a 7-over-par 78.

Hickman's Juwan Mahaney was the only Kewpie to finish in the top 30. His 12-over-par score of 83 was good for 29th.

John Fuchs from Kickapoo (Springfield) took individual honors in the event with a 1-under-par score of 70.
