Missouri senior golfer Emilio Cuartero shot a three-under-par 67 and is tied for ninth after the first round of the 2014 NCAA Championships in Hutchinson, Kan. Cuartero and the Tigers opened competition Friday morning, but were forced to finish the round Saturday because of inclement weather.

The sub-70 round by Cuartero continues his late-season run. He has been under par in six consecutive rounds dating back to the SEC Championship in late April. The Tigers are in the first-round leaderboard mix, just five shots outside the top eight.

Ryan Zech is second among Missouri golfers after 18 holes, shooting par for the first round. Euan Walker was one over. Hunter Kraus was five over and Wilson Sundvold was six over.

Missouri returns to action Sunday morning.
