Area high schools compete in track and field sectional meet

Each Columbia-area high school managed at least one first-place finish in Saturday's Class 4, District 3 sectional track and field competition in Eldon.

Rock Bridge High School claimed first in five events. The Bruin girls won both the 4 x 400-meter and 4 x 800-meter relays, and Kayla Funkenbusch won both the 1,600-meter and 3,200-meter runs. Bruin senior Luke Darrough finished first in the boys pole vault.

Battle High School's Ben Brooks placed first in the boys 200-meter dash, and the Spartan boys' 4 x 200-meter relay team came out on top.

The Hickman High School girls won their 4 x 400-meter relay.
