COLUMBIA — Kenton B. Shaw, 75, of Columbia, Missouri passed away on May 27, 2014.
Memorial services will be at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 7, 2014 in McMurry Chapel at Missouri United Methodist Church in Columbia. A reception will be from 4:30 until time of services. Inurnment will follow the service in the Memorial Garden at the church.
Kenton was born May 2, 1939 in Salina, Kansas to Fred and Arline Thompson Shaw.
He was married to Marcia Cook on May 31, 1959 in Kingman, Kansas.
Kenton graduated from Emporia State Teachers College and taught mathematics at Hutchinson Kansas Middle School for three years. He then worked 37 years for State Farm Insurance Company and retired in 2000.
He enjoyed traveling, golf, playing and listening to music, woodworking and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Marcia of Columbia; son, Scott (Nancy) Shaw of Columbia; daughters, Brenda Shaw of Normal, Illinois and Amy David of Columbia; mother, Arline of Mountain Home, Arkansas; brother, Craige (Melody) Shaw of Ontario, California; grandchildren, Mia Shaw, Allison and Madison Brown and Hunter Shaw O'Connell.
He was preceded in death by his father, Fred.
