COLUMBIA — The Missouri State Highway Patrol located the body of a Columbia man Saturday who drowned in Lake of the Ozarks on Friday.

Adam Pedego, 28*, jumped into the lake just before 11 p.m. to rescue a man who had fallen off the pontoon they were riding, according to the highway patrol accident report.

Pedego and two others went into the water to save the man. They were able to rescue him, but Pedego did not resurface, according to the report.

His body was found at around 1:30 p.m. Saturday near where the incident occurred, said Missouri State Highway Patrol Sgt. Paul Reinsch.
