Tuesday, June 17, 2014 | 11:15 a.m. CDT

COLUMBIA — Columbia police received multiple calls Monday night that three shots were fired on the north side of Worley Street Park, according to a Columbia police news release.

An 18-year-old male was admitted to a local hospital about half an hour later with a non-life threatening gunshot wound.

Columbia Police Officer Latisha Stroer said the shift sergeant told her that the man arrived at the hospital in a personal vehicle that matched the description of a vehicle seen leaving Worley Street Park shortly after the reported shots. The injured man was taken into surgery before officers had the chance to speak with him.

Officers were dispatched to the area of 503 W. Worley St., at 6:34 p.m. Monday, but no arrests were made.

The investigation is ongoing, according to the news release.
