COLUMBIA — A 20-year-old Columbia woman who is developmentally disabled was found safe Thursday afternoon, Columbia Police said in a news release.

Cynthia L. Underwood was last seen Tuesday afternoon near the intersection of Clinkscales Road and Worley Street. The police asked for help in locating her in a news release sent Thursday.

The police received several calls from the public following the alert, and Underwood was found at a friend's house within a few blocks of where she was last seen shortly after the alert was sent, Assistant Police Chief John Gordon said.

Underwood was found in good health and returned home.
