JEFFERSON CITY — Jefferson City police spent the weekend combing through a local landfill looking for a 23-year-old man who disappeared more than a month ago.

The Jefferson City News Tribune reported Christopher Cray's disappearance since May 20 was considered suspicious because family members say he always kept in contact with them.

Since he has been gone, Cray missed celebrating his own birthday and the birth of his child.

Two people have been charged with interfering with the police investigation into Cray's disappearance. Court documents show 25-year-old Adam Nadaniel Moore-Duncan is accused of tampering with evidence, while 25-year-old Richard Love is charged with tampering with a witness.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol and Missouri Task Force One out of Boone County also have been helping with the search.
