JEFFERSON CITY — Police said the disappearance of a Jefferson City man was likely a homicide.
Police Capt. Doug Shoemaker said evidence indicated that Christopher Cray was killed, although his body had not been found after several days of searching a landfill near Jefferson City.
Cray was last seen at a supermarket on May 20, and his abandoned vehicle was found May 26. Police suspected his body was thrown into the landfill.
Police said two men, Richard Love and Adam Moore-Duncan, are charged with crimes connected to the case. Moore-Duncan is charged with tampering with physical evidence and Love is charged with tampering with a witness.
KRCG-TV reported a probable cause statement says a third person also is a suspect in the case.
