COLUMBIA — Gunfire struck a house and left more than 20 shell casings in the street at the intersection of Worley Street and McBaine Avenue early Friday.

According to a Columbia Police Department news release, officers responded at 12:34 a.m. to multiple reports of gunshots at the intersection. When they arrived, witnesses told officers they saw three men standing at the intersection. Two other men approached the group and began firing guns at them.

By the time officers arrived, all five men had fled the scene. In addition to striking an occupied house, the gunfire also hit a parked car near the intersection.

No one has been reported injured in the shooting as of Friday morning.

Anyone with information about the incident can call the Columbia Police Department at 874-7652 or Crime Stoppers at 875-8477.
