Columbia man shot while driving in Moberly on Saturday

COLUMBIA — A Columbia man was shot in the leg while driving on a Moberly street early Saturday morning.

The man, 29, told Moberly Police Department officers that he was shot through the driver's side door of his car as he drove down Fisk Avenue at about 2 a.m., according to a department news release.

The injured man was taken to University Hospital, where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries and released.

The police were not disclosing his name as of Saturday morning.

The man couldn't provide a description of the suspect, according to the release. An investigation is ongoing.
