Gunshots strike car, residences on Sanford Avenue early Wednesday

COLUMBIA — Gunshots in central Columbia struck a parked car and two residences early Wednesday.

According to a Columbia Police Department news release, officers responded to reports of shots fired on the 400 block of Sanford Avenue at 1:29 a.m.. When they arrived, they found multiple shell casings in the roadway. Bullets had struck two residences and an unoccupied vehicle.

No one was reported injured, and there was no suspect information available as of 8:30 a.m. Wednesday.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information about the incident can call the Columbia Police Department at 874-7652 or Crime Stoppers at 875-8477.
