COLUMBIA — Hickman High School football coach Arnel Monroe has returned to work after being arrested for a DWI early Sunday. Monroe held practice Wednesday night, according to Columbia Public Schools spokeswoman Michelle Baumstark.

Baumstark could not comment on any possible future action taken by the district against Monroe, who now has been arrested twice for DWI.

Monroe's attorney, Bogdan A. Susan, also could not comment on Monroe's continued employment with the school.

"If he held practice last night, that's probably a good sign,"  Susan said. He stressed, however, the uncertainty of the situation until Monroe's legal case is decided.
