COLUMBIA — The Columbia Police Department seized an undisclosed amount of heroin during a narcotics raid Thursday night at the 600 block of Mikel St.

The Police Department SWAT team launched a narcotics search warrant at 8:03 p.m., according to a Police Department news release Friday. The team arrived at the residence in the department's Bearcat armored vehicle, which it bought last year, according to the release.

Authorities on Friday were looking for the subject of the search warrant, who wasn't at the home when officers searched it, the release said.

The investigation was continuing.
