Elizabeth Charlene St. Aubin loved NASCAR racing, puzzles

COLUMBIA — Elizabeth Charlene St. Aubin of Columbia died Saturday morning, July 26, 2014, at Ellis Fischel Cancer Center. She was 76.

She was born March 8, 1938, on a farm near Edina to Leslie Klote and Virginia (Howerton) Klote. The family moved to Columbia in 1953. Ms. St. Aubin graduated from Hickman High School in 1956.

She will be missed by her children and siblings, friends who knew her as "Charlie" and grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews who all knew her as "Boo."

She loved NASCAR racing, country music, word puzzles and jigsaw puzzles.

She is survived by a son, Mark St. Aubin, and his wife, Jeannette, of St. Charles; a daughter, Leslie Culver, and her husband, Markus, of Houston; two sisters, Margaret Schlepphorst of Quincy, Ill., and Ann Cox and her husband, Ron, of Columbia; a brother, Bill Klote; three grandsons, Christopher St. Aubin and Colin St. Aubin, both of St. Charles, and James Brown and his wife, Amanda, of Houston; and a granddaughter, Alexandra Elizabeth Brown of Houston.

A sister, Ramona, and a brother, Jerry Klote, died earlier.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 509 N. Main St. in Edina, with graveside service to follow.
