Section of Business Loop 70 to close Monday for bridge work

COLUMBIA — The section of Business Loop 70 that goes under the Route B bridge, as well as the ramp from Business Loop 70 to Route B, will be closed Monday overnight, according to a Missouri Department of Transportation news release.

The closure, from 7 p.m. Monday to 6 a.m. Tuesday, will allow workers to put in place girders for the new Route B bridge.

Drivers can take the following detours to get around the area:

Business Loop 70 Detour — Eastbound: Right on Route 763 (College Avenue), left onto Paris Road, right onto Ammonette, left onto Old Highway 63, right onto Business Loop 70.

Business Loop 70 Detour — Westbound: Left onto Old Highway 63, right onto Ammonette, left onto Paris Road, right onto Route 763 (College Avenue) to Business Loop 70.

Access to local businesses along Business Loop 70 and Route B will be available during the closure, according to the release.

The bridge is scheduled to reopen Sept. 15.
