Norma "Jean" Baldwin, June 29, 1926 — Aug. 6, 2014.

COLUMBIA — Norma “Jean” Baldwin, 88, of Columbia, Missouri, passed away August 6, 2014, in the home and loving presence of her daughter and grandson.

She was born June 29, 1926, in Creighton, Missouri to the late Guy G. and Ruth (Jones) Randol. In May 1952, she married Laban Baldwin, and he preceded her in death in 1997.

Jean was a lifelong teacher; she loved knowledge and sharing it with others. She began her career in a one room school house, eventually becoming an elementary art teacher in Brentwood, Missouri, for nearly three decades.

Once she and her husband relocated to Columbia, she became a member of Broadway Christian Church, remaining very active throughout the years. They were also very instrumental with the Columbia Senior Center.

Jean is survived by her daughter, Ronda “Rhoda” LaJean Baldwin of Columbia, Missouri; siblings: Jewel Dean Reynolds of Smithville, Missouri, Wanda Ruth Mann (husband, Bill) of Gower, Missouri, Harold “Doc” Randol of Arkansas, and Tom Randol (wife, Carolyn) of Harrisonville, Missouri; grandson: Dinesh Baldwin of Columbia, Missouri; and many nieces, nephews and thousands of students.

In addition to her loving husband and parents, Jean was preceded in death by her son, Brad Alan Baldwin, and two brothers and two sisters.

There will be a visitation from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, on Sunday, August 10, 2014, at Memorial Funeral Home, Columbia, Missouri. Funeral service will be 1:00 pm, Monday, August 11, 2014, at Broadway Christian Church, Columbia, Missouri. There will be a second visitation from 11:00 am until the time of service at the church. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
