COLUMBIA — The Columbia College Women's Volleyball team is one of 33 NAIA teams that has been honored with the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award.

Teams that receive this award must maintain at least a 3.30 cumulative team grade point average on a 4.0 scale. The Cougars finished 2013-14 with a GPA of 3.35.

Columbia volleyball finished this past season with a record of 30-11 overall. The team was 10-1 in the conference and dropped only one game at home last year.

The AVCA announced that 676 teams have earned the Team Academic Award this year, surpassing the previous year's total of 623 and sets a new all-time high for the award.
