Erin Johnson had a kind heart, could brighten anyone's day

COLUMBIA — Erin “Jellyroll” Johnson, of Columbia, died Friday, Aug. 15, 2014. He was 22.

He was born in Columbia on June 3, 1992, to Jeff Johnson and Debbie Johnson-Barr.

Mr. Johnson loved to laugh and see others be happy. His family and friends were the most important thing to him, and he spent a majority of his time with them. He had a special bond with his nieces and nephews and was great with kids.

In addition to spending time with family and friends, Mr. Johnson also enjoyed nature, especially hunting and fishing. He was a creative individual with a kind heart, a giver with a bit of a risk-taker side to him.

His family said he had a special kind of humor that could brighten anyone’s day.

Mr. Johnson is survived by his parents; grandmother, Edna Berner; four sisters, Angie Buholt of Columbia, Sara Johnson of Sand Springs, Okla., Michelle Johnson of Lorton, Va., and Kayla Johnson and her fiancé, Michael Britt, of Columbia; cousin, Thomas Slavit of Columbia; nieces and nephews, Grace, Christopher, Tyler, Haley, Kiley, Logan and Ashton; aunt Rachel Johnson; uncles, Vince Green and Tim Johnson; and companion, Julie.

His grandparents, Grant and Ellen Nole; stepfather, Ted Barr; and aunt Melissa Slavit died earlier.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. on Thursday at Memorial Funeral Home, 1217 Business Loop 70 W. Services will follow at the funeral home.

Memorial donations can be made to Memorial Funeral Home, 1217 Business Loop 70 W., Columbia, MO 65202, to assist with the funeral expenses.
