Tolton softball places second at North County Softball tournament

COLUMBIA — The Fr. Tolton Regional Catholic High School softball team started its season with a 2-1 record and a second-place finish at the North County Softball tournament Saturday.

The Trailblazers beat Fredericktown 20-4, lost to North County 10-4 and took down the Jefferson R-VII School District's team 7-5. Kelsey Bequette pitched all three games for Tolton and picked up decisions in each matchup.

Cindy Menk led the team offensively in both wins. She was a combined 6-8 at the plate in the victories with eight RBIs, three doubles and a triple.
